Conn Creek Herrick Red, an Inaugural Tasting

Well my buddy Carl stopped by today and turned me on to a Conn Creek Merrick Red. It has good complexity with a nice blend of bordeaux style grapes with a hint of Syrah. Nice spicey finish. This is an inaugural wine with great character. I highly suggest a try of this new hotty. Here are some highlights from the vinter:

“Founded in 1973 and located on Napa Valley’s famed Silverado Trail, Conn Creek has built its reputation on blending expertise, sourcing grapes from nearly all of Napa’s diverse sub-appellations to create wines that truly showcase “the best of Napa Valley.”

A Cabernet Sauvignon-based blend of classic Bordeaux-style varieties with a hint of Syrah, Herrick Red continues Conn Creek’s tradition of celebrating the diversity of Napa Valley. The result is a classic wine with a modern twist, sure to appeal to the adventurous wine drinker.
